Rotomilling & Cold Planing

We at Construction Material Recycling specialize in Rotomilling, otherwise known as Cold Planing. Rotomilling is a process in which we remove existing asphalt to a specified depth. With our equipment we can remove up to 14 inches of asphalt in a single pass.

We use top-of-the-line self-propelled front loading equipment in addition to hauling trucks and vacuum sweepers. The material we remove from Rotomilling is loaded into our trucks and taken back to our plant to be recycled and made into new, usable asphalt. This process is called recycling asphalt pavement, or RAP.

There are many uses for cold planing, many of which help improve roads. The process of digging and recycling asphalt allows us to maintain an existing road slope or grade. We are also able to prepare trenches by removing roadbase or asphalt for T patches. Other benefits of rotomilling include:

  • Curb reveal
  • Ponding
  • Shoulder dropoff
  • Staged construction
  • Overhead clearance

If you have need of removing or recycling asphalt, please give us a call!
